The client

A family-owned Bay Area hauler since 1993

Fast Haul provides same-day junk removal, trash hauling, cleanups and light demolition for homeowners, property managers, realtors and businesses across San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Marin and Solano counties.

The challenge

Too much depended on paid clicks

Like many local service businesses, Fast Haul relied on Google Ads to keep the phones ringing, and competing with national junk removal franchises made every click expensive. At the same time, customers were starting to ask AI assistants who to call for junk removal, and Fast Haul’s website wasn’t built to be read by them.

Our approach

Three steps: organic first, smarter ads, then AI visibility

1

Grow organic visibility

We strengthened Fast Haul’s on-page SEO and content so the site earns more traffic from Google’s regular search results, not only from ads.

2

Spend less on Google Ads

As organic reach grew, we focused the ad budget on the highest-intent campaigns and steadily reduced Fast Haul’s dependence on paid clicks.

3

Get ready for AI search

In recent months we made the entire website AI-ready, so assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity can understand and recommend Fast Haul accurately.

AI visibility, in detail

What makes fasthaul.com AI-ready

Using AIA Matrix, we gave AI systems a clean, structured version of the whole site, without changing anything visitors see.

  • An llms.txt guide that points AI tools to the site’s most important pages and files
  • A full-content file with the text of every page in one place, for AI tools that want everything at once
  • Clean Markdown copies of 45 pages, which AI systems read far more reliably than designed web pages
  • Structured JSON data for every page, plus a site-wide schema.org knowledge graph of services and service areas
  • Search-engine safeguards so the AI files never compete with Fast Haul’s real pages in Google
  • Self-updating index pages and a footer link so AI crawlers can always find the latest files

The results

Less ad spend, more organic reach, ready for what’s next

  • Over 80% less spent on Google Ads each month

Compared with the two years before Polygons Media took over in 2023.

  • Stronger organic visibility

More of Fast Haul’s traffic now comes from search results it doesn’t pay for.

  • A website AI assistants can read

90+ machine-readable files give AI tools an accurate picture of Fast Haul’s services, service areas and contact details.

What’s next

Measuring AI mentions

We’re tracking how often AI assistants mention and link to Fast Haul, keeping the AI files in sync as the site changes, and continuing to grow organic reach across the Bay Area.

Search is changing. Local businesses that make their websites easy for AI to understand will be the ones AI recommends.
